Super Eagles forward Samuel Chukwueze is expected to be in the starting eleven for AC Milan when they play AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico in the second leg of their Europa League encounter, Soccernet.ng reports.
Milan are condemned to beat Roma when they take on rivals Roma in the second leg of their Europa League game on Thursday. The first leg in Milan ended 1-0 in Roma’s favour, thanks to a strike from Gianluca Mancini, and Milan would need at least a singe-goal win to force a draw.
In the first leg, coach Pioli started American forward Christian Pulisic, but he did not offer much gong forward.
However, ahead of the game against Roma, there are talks that Chukwueze could get the nod ahead of Pulisic. This is because of the Nigeria international recent upturn in form. He has started three of AC Milan’s last four games. Moreover, in the first leg against Roma, Chukwueze played well, albeit coming off the bench and getting just 12 minutes of action.
The 24-year-old has scored some clutch goals in his career- His goal against Bayer Munich for Villarreal two seasons ago, and his goal for Milan at Newcastle that sealed their spot in the Europa League. Coach Stefano Pioli will be hoping that Chukwueze produces another big performance to see them through against Roma.
