Victor Osimhen transfer: Galatasaray receive fresh ₦189bn offer for Super Eagles star

Victor Osimhen's summer will likely be complicated as Galatasaray have reportedly received another huge €120 million (about ₦189 billion) offer for the Super Eagles striker, Soccernet.ng reports.

The Turkish champions are already believed to have received several big-money approaches from Europe, but fresh reports now claim that a Saudi Arabian club has entered the race with an offer worth the same amount.

Turkish transfer insider Serhan Türk reported that Galatasaray now have two separate €120 million offers on the table; one from a European club and another from Saudi Arabia. However, the identity of the Saudi club has not been revealed.

Before this latest update, reports had already linked Atlético Madrid with a €120 million bid, while another unnamed European club was said to have made a verbal offer of €125 million. Despite the growing interest from different parts of the football world, Galatasaray have shown no signs of changing their position.

The Turkish Süper Lig champions are determined to keep Osimhen in Istanbul. Club officials reportedly believe the Nigerian striker is the most important player in their squad and want to build the team around him instead of selling him for a record fee.

Galatasaray's confidence comes after Osimhen enjoyed an outstanding first full season with the club after his record transfer last year. The 27-year-old scored 22 goals and provided eight assists in 33 matches across all competitions, helping the Turkish giants successfully defend their Süper Lig title.

The club's determination to keep Osimhen has become even stronger because Mauro Icardi is expected to leave, leaving the Nigerian forward as the team's main attacking leader. Reports suggest Galatasaray are planning several important steps to convince him to remain in Istanbul for years to come.

Club president Dursun Özbek reportedly values Osimhen at €150 million and has no intention of opening transfer talks with interested clubs. Galatasaray are also believed to be preparing a new long-term contract that would run until 2029, with a massive salary package per season.

Beyond money, the club wants to make Osimhen the face of the team. Reports claim he could be handed the captain's armband after Icardi's departure and may also receive the famous No. 9 shirt as a symbol of his importance to the club.

Galatasaray are also said to be planning further investment in the squad by signing a top-class midfielder to improve their chances of competing strongly in the UEFA Champions League. The message from the club is clearly that they want Osimhen to lead their next chapter rather than leave this summer.

Although Saudi Pro League clubs have previously been ready to offer Osimhen contracts worth more than $50 million per year, the Nigerian international has consistently been linked with a desire to remain in Europe. A move to the English Premier League has also been described as one of his long-term ambitions, meaning the transfer story is far from over as the summer window continues.
