Italian Serie A club Venezia have made a breakthrough in their pursuit of Super Eagles striker Akor Adams, Soccernet.ng reports.
The Nigerian forward has been linked with several clubs this summer following a solid campaign with Sevilla, where he recorded ten goals and three assists in 32 appearances to help the club avoid relegation.
In recent weeks, Marseille and Sunderland were touted as potential destinations, and it appeared likely that he would join one of the two, especially as Sevilla are eager to sell him this summer.

However, those clubs have recently cooled their interest. Meanwhile, the Super Eagles star has maintained that he would prefer to remain at Sevilla.
Despite this, news broke last week that Venezia are seriously interested in the striker. They reportedly tabled an opening bid of less than €10 million, which Sevilla promptly rejected, as it fell well short of their €25 million valuation. Undeterred, Venezia appear determined to keep negotiations alive.
Venezia Reach Agreement on Personal Terms With Akor Adams

Although Akor Adams initially insisted on staying with Sevilla, it seems his stance may have shifted. According to Italian transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Venezia have now reached an agreement with the striker on personal terms, including wages and other contractual details.
The final hurdle remains an agreement with Sevilla. The former Europa League champions are holding firm on their €25 million asking price.
This is a challenge, as Italian Serie A clubs are not typically known for massive spending power, and a newly promoted side like Venezia may struggle to meet that valuation—particularly given the risk of relegation next season.

Nonetheless, if the two clubs can find a middle ground, the transfer could be finalized within a few weeks. With pre-season training approaching, all parties involved are hoping to resolve the situation quickly.
