Maduka Okoye transfer: Juventus, Inter in dilemma as Super Eagles goalkeeper makes key decision

Super Eagles and Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has hinted at where his future lies amid interest from Juventus and other clubs in the European top five leagues, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 26-year-old recorded ten clean sheets in 30 league outings for Kosta Runjaic's side, helping them to a top-half finish in the Italian Serie A.

Okoye's club-level performance, coupled with his displays in Nigeria's friendlies against Poland and Portugal just before the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, has put him on the radar of top clubs, including Juventus.

The 21-cap Super Eagles goalkeeper is currently valued at €10 million by Transfermarkt and has two years remaining on his contract.

Maduka Okoye eager for new Udinese campaign amidst interest

Speaking in a previous interview with Transfermarkt, the former Watford goalkeeper revealed what interest from other clubs means to him.

“Of course, I still have goals in my career, but currently my head is complete at Udinese.

“I enjoy it without thinking too much about the future. In football things can change quickly and if it happens, I know that the club is well positioned and I can still earn him a nice replacement.

“But until then, I’m 100 percent Udinese professional,” Okoye said.

After enjoying his summer in the Formula 1 cockpit and sharing the stage with American rapper Cardi B at a Fashion event in Paris, Okoye has returned to pre-season training with Udinese, fully focused with no transfer-related inclinations.

“I'm happy to be here,” Okoye said in quotes revealed by Tuttomercatoweb after unveiling Udinese's jersey for the 2026/2027 season.

“We're happy to be here with the fans, and we can't wait to get started,” the Germany-born Nigerian concluded.

With pre-season now underway, the Super Eagles goalkeeper will hope to build on last season's performances before linking up with Eric Chelle's side for Nigeria's 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers in September, where he is expected to challenge for the No. 1 shirt, with Stanley Nwabali returning to Chippa United, heating up the battle within the pair.

Udinese kick off their 2026/2027 campaign with a Coppa Italia fixture against Serie B side Padova, scheduled to be played on the 15th of August.

For Juventus and Inter Milan, they might have to look elsewhere to sign new goalkeepers following the comments made by Maduka Okoye.
