Rivers United have played 26 games in the league so far, while most of the teams have played 31 games already. This is due to the club’s participation in the CAF Confederations Cup.
Matchday 32 will go on this weekend as scheduled, but after, all teams in the league except Rivers United will go on break for a month. The President’s Federations Cup will also be played during that period; currently, it is in the round of 64.
Rivers United defeated Katsina United 2-0 on Thursday. They are 12th on the NPFL table with 40 points from 26 matches. Should they win all their outstanding five matches, they will dethrone Rangers who are currently top of the table.
