WATCH: Super Eagles depart Abuja for Guinea-Bissau ahead of Afcon qualifier return leg

The Super Eagles have departed Nigeria for Guinea-Bissau early on Sunday morning via Air Peace in preparation for the second leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The team suffered a disappointing 1-0 loss to Guinea-Bissau in the first leg played at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Friday.

Despite the loss, Nigeria remains second in Group D with six points, one point behind leaders, the Central African Republic. However, a win on Monday against Guinea-Bissau would see them overtake their opponents and move closer to securing a place in the continental showpiece event.

The team will be hoping to put their disappointing performance from the first leg behind them and come out strong in the second leg. They will be banking on the experience of players like Napoli’s Victor Osimhen, Kelechi Iheanacho, and Paul Onuachu to lead the attack and secure a vital win.

The team will be facing a tough opponent in Guinea-Bissau, who showed their resilience in the first leg, but the Super Eagles are determined to get a positive result. The players are focused and ready for the challenge ahead, and they will be looking to redeem themselves with a strong performance.

The Nigerian Football Federation has expressed confidence in the team’s ability to bounce back and secure a win in the second leg. They have also urged the players to give their best and make the country proud.

The second leg of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Guinea-Bissau and Nigeria will take place on Monday at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau.
