Why Ndidi May Miss Leicester’s Clash Against Wolves

The Super Eagles star missed the Foxes midweek clash against Fulham, and could also be absent for the game against Nuno Espirito’s men on Sunday

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers says Wilfred Ndidi is progressing well from his injury. Still, a decision on his availability for the premier league game against Wolves won’t be made until 24 hours before the clash.

Ndidi walked off midway through the first half of the shock home loss to Leeds last weekend with a suspected hamstring injury and subsequently missed the win against Fulham on Wednesday.

The Nigerian international has now recovered from the injury but could still miss Sunday’s game, according to Rodgers.

“We’ll see with him over the next 24 hours, just whether it’s worth the risk or not,” Rodgers told LCFC website when asked about Ndidi’s fitness.

“He’s coming along very, very well. We’ll assess that, he added.

But should Ndidi miss the game against Wolves, Rodgers confirmed he would make his comeback in the FA Cup game against Brighton Hove and Albion on Wednesday.

“If not for the weekend, he’ll definitely be available for midweek (vs. Brighton & Hove Albion in the Emirates FA Cup fifth round,” Rodgers concluded.

Ndidi is one of Leicester’s key players, but his season has been blighted with injuries, having earlier missed almost three months of the campaign due to an adductor injury.
