Iheanacho Cost Leicester City Victory Against Crystal Palace

The Super Eagles striker was afforded a rare start in the Premier League, but he could not take advantage as the Foxes came back from a goal down to salvage a point at Selhurst Park

Kelechi Iheanacho’s missed penalty denied Leicester City a likely win in their Premier League encounter against Crystal Palace on Monday afternoon.

Leicester manager, Brendan Rodgers made several changes to the side that drew against Manchester United with Iheanacho coming in for Jamie Vardy.

The Foxes started on the front foot and were awarded a penalty in the 19th minute. However, Iheanacho missed the resulting spot-kick, failing to beat Vicente Guaita from 12-yards.

Crystal Palace got into the game following the miss, and they almost opened the scoring through Andros Townsend, but the former Newcastle winger could not beat Kasper Schmeichel in Leicester’s goal.

However, the Eagles eventually took the lead in the 58th minute courtesy of a fine strike from Ivorian winger, Wilfried Zaha.

Leicester searched for an equaliser, and they finally got their reward seven minutes from time, courtesy of another fantastic strike for Harvey Barnes.

Both sides went in search of the winner, but they had to do with a point apiece at full time.
